Obituary for Maryann Danczewski
Mary Ann DANCZEWSKI (nee Brady) of Middletown, N.Y., formerly of Greenpoint, N.Y. passed away on February 11, 2022. Known for her incredible strength and generosity, quiet and welcoming demeanor and quick, colorful wit, Mary Ann was the cherished wife of the late Daniel J. Danczewski and beloved mother of Dawn Knapp, Daniel J. Danczewski,Jr. (Claudia), Jason Danczewski (Lisa), Justine Barile (Dominick), Patrick Danczewski (Julieanne) and Kenneth Danczewski (Julie). She was also the proud and loving grandmother to 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Nothing made Mary Ann happier, or made her blue eyes sparkle, like her grandchildren. Throughout her lifetime, Mary Ann was a proud member of her own “Brady Bunch,” with brothers Johnny (Annette), Frank (Maryann) and the late Jimmy and sisters Catherine (Chuck, dec.) and Teddy (George, dec.). Always happy to see or hear from her many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws, family was Mary Ann’s world.
Mary Ann was a tough-as-nails lady born and bred in Brooklyn, and she remained a fighter until the very end. She was warm and jovial, kind and considerate and loved to tease and joke around, with an unabashed willingness to cross the line to make you laugh. She was never afraid to speak her mind and had a special affinity for music and musicals which revived her late in life. Our hearts are broken and we will miss her dearly. According to Mare’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Details on her funeral mass and interment are forthcoming.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to CFC Foundation, a special organization that supports a cause that was very close to her heart, as is her granddaughter, Gabrielle. www.cfcsyndrome.org
