MaryEllen Tucek (Malzacher) affectionately known as Mona passed away peacefully in her family home in Middletown, New York, in the early morning hours on Thursday, August 25th 2022.
She was born on February 3rd 1947 in The Bronx to Gerald and Josephine Malzacher (Bowman) the youngest of 4 children.
MaryEllen married Douglas W. Tucek Sr on June 24th 1967 with whom she recently celebrated 55 years of marriage. They moved thier young family from The Bronx to their first and forever home in Middletown, New York in 1977. She was a devoted wife and mother and was fortunate enough to celebrate many life adventures with her family.
She was a beloved member of the community and filled many roles in her 45 years in Middletown. Wife, Mother, sister and friend to all. Family and friends were always welcomed to the Tucek home over those many years. Everyone in Middletown was greeted with a smile by her for over 30 years at the Dolson Avenue Shoprite. You could always count on her for the latest conversation and great laughs. She was sorely missed by many after her retirement. MaryEllen was loved by many and the pain of her loss is a testament to that love.
She is survived by her husband Douglas W. Tucek Sr. Her son Douglas W. Tucek Jr. and daughter in law Rachael Tucek (Mazzella). Her daughter Denise Tucek-Tanis and son in law Charles Tanis as well as her 2 grandsons Brendan and Bryan and her sister Patricia Sparks (Malzacher).
She is predeceased by her parents, her youngest daughter Jennifer Tucek, her brothers Gerald and Robert Malzacher and her Brother in law Edward Sparks.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September, 01, 2022, at Applebee-Mcphillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave, Middletown, NY 10940. Cremation will take place in a private ceremony.
