Mary Zovinka of Middletown died Friday December 10, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 91 years old. The daughter of the late John and Zuzana Findra Guglava , she was born in Malinec, Czechoslovakia on September 29, 1919.
She was a loving supportive and generous mother and grandmother. Even in the late stages of illness she relished the time she spent with her family.
Mary is survived by her son Robert of Middletown; daughter-in-law Anna of Orange , CT; one sister Suzanna Labun of Halic, Slovakia , three grandchildren John, Edward, and Christopher and two great-grandchildren, Edward and Shane.
She is predeceased by her husband Paul, son Edward and brother Jan.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Monday December 13, 2010 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.130 Highland Ave. Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery , Bronx , NY.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home.
