Obituary for Mary Strzalka
Mary Strzalka, who stayed in good spirits through several near fatlal incidents over the years, died following a long illness on June 25, 2020 at Orange Regional Medical Center.
She was one of nine children born to Carl Schupper and Elizabeth Crockenburg on August 5, 1940 in Honesdale, PA. She married Michael Strzalka and he predeceased her in 2000. Mary loved being a housewife and a mom and enjoyed baking for her family. She had a funny sense of humor and at times could have a "testy" attitude, but always kept up a good front, even when she was ill. She loved the outdoors and taught her children to appreciate nature and the advantages of living in the country.
She is survived by her children, Martin and his wife Shari of Shohola, PA, Mark and his wife Mary of Dingman's Ferry, PA, Margaret (Peggy)and her husband Marc and four cherished grandchildren, Abigail, Nicholas, Jayden and Dillon and we can't forget her pet companion, Chico the Chihuahua. In additiont to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Michael in 2000 and her son Michael J. in March of 2002.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 30th at 11 am at Wallkill Cemetery, Fr. Dennis Nikolic will officiate.
