The daughter of the late Guiseppe and Benvenuta (DiMonte) Ruffini, she was born on March 25, 1931 in Astoria, Queens, New York. Mary was the youngest child and was predeceased by her brothers, Peter, Frank, Daniel and Valdo. She is survived by her daughter, Louisa LoCascio, son-in-law Stephen Locascio; grandchildren Stacey and Justin LoCascio, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom was more than just a mother to her daughter, she was her loving friend. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart and always had M&Ms, Kit-Kats and Pizzelles for them when she was still at her home. She was a great cook and baker. Her Sunday dinners of roast pork, macaroni and gravy were the best. Her brother Val loved her raisin cake.
Mary’s family would like to give a special thank you to Jennifer Sternberger and the staff of Unit 4 at MiddletownRehab, who all took such great care of her. She especially loved her visits from “Mr. Parker”, the resident cat, and her Sunday afternoon ice cream.
