    Mary Frances Stavrides of Middletown NY, died on Sunday December 26 at Middletown, NY. She was 69.
Born on December 30, 1940 in the Bronx, Mary was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Polesofsky.Â
She moved from N.Y.C. to the Middletown area in 1978 and attended St. Paul's R.C. Church in Bullville.Â
    Her family will remember Mary as a totally selfless, loving person who cherished her two sons and her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, and flowers gave her special joy-especially irises, tiger lilies, roses and columbines. She was called "Aunt Mary" by everyone because she treated everyone like family. She was patient, extremely compassionate and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need.Â
    Mary is survived by her sons, Steve and his wife Janice of Long Island and Nick and his wife Stephanie of N.Y.C.; her brothers Joe and his wife Ginny of Franklin Lakes, NJ and Tommy of the Bronx; sisters Rose and her husband Victor of Middletown and Teresa of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and grandchildren Dean and Leah.Â
    Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held at 10 am on Friday, December 31, 2010 at the funeral home, Rev. Patrick McGuigan, O. Carm. will officiate. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope. Arrangements under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
