MARQUES ANTONIO MILLER

February 27, 2004 - November 15, 2010

Bloomingburg, NY

Marques Antonio Miller, the miracle child of Kimberly Parker and Conrad Miller, died on Monday, November 15, 2010, in his mother's arms surrounded by his many beloved friends at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. He was 6 years old.

Marques was born February 27, 2004, at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus in Middletown.

He was active in soccer and swimming at the Middletown YMCA and loved playing football and basketball with his Daddy.

Marques was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2008, at the age of 4. Since that time, he has changed many lives for the better with his enormous spirit and strength.

A family statement reads: "Blessed with God's favor, we are thankful to have been chosen to deliver his angel. Though loaned to us for only a little while, you touched the hearts of many beyond a generation of lifetimes. As an inpatient at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, he was known for his loveable personality and inspiring courage.

"Prince Marques" at home, and affectionately called "The Mayor" at the hospital because of the sense of community he created on the ward and his ability to inspire other patients, we thank you for the blessing that you will forever be to us.

Handsome, friendly, and a ham at heart, you are an inspiration to even those who just know of you. The embodiment of strength and courage, you took on life itself and changed the world in doing so.

Thank you for your infectious smile, your charming personality, and a your wisdom beyond your years. You are our gift, our warrior, our hero and our friend. We will miss you, Prince Marques, but know you'll live forever in our hearts and memories. Hugs & Kisses... Love, Daddy, Mommy, Chelsea & Taneesha...GO PLAY!!"

In addition to his loving mother, Kimberly and father, Conrad, he is survived by his sisters, Taneesha Miller and Chelsea Parker, at home; grandparents: Beulah Fischer and Michael Fischer and Roland Miller and Marjorie Porter, as well as several aunts, uncles, many cousins and countless friends.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, November 22, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 23, at Christian Faith Fellowship, 510 M and M Road, Middletown. Burial will follow in the family plot at Wallkill Cemetery, 160 Midway Rd, Middletown, NY 10940.

Marques' parents wish to thank the staff at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital and his homecare nurse, Beth Somali, who cared for him over the past 2 and a half years, and the physicians at Orange Pediatrics.
