Phyllis entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 20, 2021, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 17, 1933, in Bayonne, New Jersey to the late Earl and Marjorie (Brady) Hunter. She was married to and predeceased by the love of her life, George J. Nagengast.
She was a faithful member and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, Middletown, NY where she volunteered throughout her life. Phyllis was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Professional Business Women’s Association.
She is survived by her children, Susan McIlroy (Gary), Joseph Nagengast (Laura) and Earlene Roe (Frank) as well as her grandchildren, Gary McIlroy (Emilie), Brianna LaGarde, Eric Nagengast, Shannon Nagengast, Garrett Nagengast, Brady DeVries (Michael), Andrew Roe, Courtney Roe, Saige Roe and six great grandchildren. Phyllis was also predeceased by her brother Earl Hunter Jr.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 27th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church from 10:30-11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11AM. Burial will be held privately in the family plot.
