Marjorie Louise Phillips, a lifetime Middletown resident, passed away on Thursday, December 8th surrounded by her loving family.
Marge is survived by her son Jeffery Phillips and his wife Jezzreel, daughter Tammy Costello and her husband Brian; grandchildren Jozef Phillips, Tara McCullers and her husband Kevin, Shanna Beairsto and her husband Martin Rutyna, Ryan McClanahan and his wife Tiphany; great grandchildren Jericho and Isla; sister Theresa Cross and her husband Jim, sister-in-law Cammy Phillips, and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins including Gloria Eason, and many friends including her dear friend Carol Richmond.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Phillips, parents Beatrice and Andy Babcock, sister Marie DiPirro, sister-in-law Donna Phillips, brothers-in-law Stan and Roger Phillips, and son-in-law Robert Beairsto.
Marge will be remembered as a loving, generous, and kind person who always made time for the people in her life and remembered everyone’s birthdays, anniversaries, and other milestones.
Marge was a graduate of Middletown High School where she participated in the Jaycee Juniors. She worked as a secretary for many years until retiring from the Middletown Psychiatric Center. Marge was a member of the Jaycees, Ontario Hose Company #5 Ladies Auxiliary, North Congregational Church, and Mulberry Street House.
Marge was a fierce competitor and loved games including bowling in her younger years, Uno, cards, and most recently Wordle.
Over the years, Marge enjoyed traveling to various places to spend time with her beloved family and friends.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 pm on Monday, December 12th at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Christian memorial service will start at the funeral home at 6 pm on Monday evening.
A private burial will take place at a later date at Wallkill Cemetery.
