Marion Larkin Cavender a resident of Sierra Vista, and formerly of Middletown, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Regional Hospital in Sierra Vista. She was 93 years old.
The daughter of the late Peter J. and Anna Margaret Dougherty Larkin, she was born March 5, 1914 in New Hampton. Marion was a 1931 graduate of Middletown High School. In addition to raising her children, Marion was very supportive of her husband, George, and worked behind the scenes at the family tire business. She was also a lifetime member of the Carmelite Confraternity.
A family statement reads, “Marion’s life revolved around her family and friends. She was a gentle, gracious, loving mother, a proud gramma of five and great gramma (G.G) of six. Marion enjoyed many years of travel with her husband, George; reading; trivia games; keeping abreast of the NY news and east coast happenings. We will particularly miss her love of cooking family recipes over the years.”
She is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn L'Heureux and her husband Odell of Sierra Vista, AZ, Phyllis Cavender of Tucson, AZ; her grandchildren Odell L'Heureux of Scottsdale, AZ; Matthew L'Heureux of New York City; Jennifer Sweeney of Folsom, CA; Tim L'Heureux of Chandler, AZ; Lawrence L'Heureux of Scottsdale, AZ She is also survived by a niece, Corinne Rolufs of Middletown and nephew Frank Wright of Accord, NY and six great grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, April 4, from 10 to 11:30am at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. , 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12 noon at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown.
Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
