Marion Benjamin, a resident of South Fallsburgh, formerly of Spring Valley, died on May 9, 2010 at O.R.M.C., Horton Campus. She was 70.
The daughter of the late Jobe and Clara Taylor Conklin, she was born on January 20, 1940 in Ramapo, NY. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Spring Valley. She worked as a volunteer for Dept. of Social Services in Rockland County. She worked as a housekeeper for Monsey Park Manor and Rickels Home Center in Monsey. She was also a homemaker who enjoyed to crochet.
She lived for her grandchildren and was loved by many.
She is survived by her husband Charles D. Benjamin; sons, Jobie McCown and his wife Melinda of Texas, Wayne Gibbs and his wife Shelby of Monroe; daughters Tessie Rivera, Charlene Benjamin and her fiancé Wade Bartelini of Middletown and Tina Benjamin and her fiancé Keith Scott of Middletown; brothers, Alan of Syracuse, Claude of Florida and Mike of Maybrook; sisters, Clara Mann of Fallsburgh, Carolyn Tiger of Ellenville; 14 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.She was predeceased by her brother, William and sisters Edith and Judith. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 17, 2010 from 1 to 3pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service in Remembrance will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday afternoon at the funeral home.
