Obituary for Marie Louise Chaudry
We are saddened to announce the death of our dear mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Marie Louise Chaudry on April 6, 2022 at the age of 76. She was one of eleven children, born on August 24, 1945 in Jeremie, Haiti to Heroique and Claircilie Clarveau Joseph. She married her husband, Louis Dufranc Chaudry in Haiti on January 31, 1970, and soon after, they made the brave decision to move to the United States for a better life and more opportunities. They were blessed to have 3 children (Stacey, Diana & Emanuel) and raised their family in Spring Valley New York. Being a devoted wife and daughter, she cared for her ailing mother and husband simultaneously, while working a full time job for many years, until their untimely deaths.

Louise continued to work tirelessly to ensure that she could provide a good life for her children. It was important to her that they receive a good education, were brought up with morals and a great love and respect for God and family values. She was a loyal and dedicated employee, working in the pharmaceutical industry as a lab technician and other positions for over 25 years until retirement. Upon retiring, she dealt with her first battle with cancer, and moved to Northern Virginia, right outside of Washington DC, to be near her youngest daughter Diana and her husband Lloyd. Upon recovering, she decided to make the move to Virginia permanent where she lovingly helped raise her granddaughter Niaclaire.
In her free time, she enjoyed exploring Washington DC and Virginia by bus and train and joining her daughter and son-in law in the many events and activities they took part in. She loved her morning coffee, journaling her thoughts in her many notebooks, spending time with her granddaughter, attending church, watching CNN and negotiating her way through Saturday morning garage sales. Even during the pandemic, she maintained her faith in Jehovah God by attending spiritual meetings via zoom in efforts to draw closer to Him.

Louise will be remembered for her warm personality and for being a good hearted person who gave more than she had. If someone was in need, and she didn’t have it to give, she found a way. She constantly said “God said to help others.” She prided herself on being independent and in raising her family. She will be remembered for her, artistic talents, her sage advice ( lime and ginger ale cures everything according to her ) and her unwavering love for her family and friends. Despite her many adversities in life and health challenges, she persevered until the very end. She was loved by many, thought of fondly, and will never be forgotten. She will be greatly missed.
