Marie Ferrara ,a longtime resident of Middletown, died on Saturday February 22 at Westchester Medical Center from injuries suffered in an accident . She was 68 yrs. old.
The daughter of Amelia Zambrano and Leonardo Rizzuto she was born on November 30, 1945 in the Bronx., .
Mrs. Ferrara was a member of ST. Joseph’s Church and volunteered for many of the school and parish functions,Besides teaching CCD and helping with the children’s summer programs she was a devoted and dependable worker.She will be remembered by all who knew her as a selfless and energetic woman who loved her family and always made time for anyone in need.Marie is survived by her son,Robert Jr.,in Walden, Her daughters, Lisa Pfleger and her husband Ernie of White, Georgia, and Ann Ferrara of Middletown; one brother, Peter Rizzuto and 5 wonderful grandchildren;Jamie, Liz, Christian¸Anthony and Joseph.She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her son, Joseph and her mother and father-in-law,Camilla and Louis Ferrara.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 27th at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s R,C. Church with burial following in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.Fr. Dennis Nikolic will officiate.
