Obituary for Marie D Cardona
Marie D. Cardona, age 67, of Otisville, New York, passed away on April 15, 2024, after a long battle with kidney disease.
Marie was born on June 6,1956 to Bernice A. Klug and John J. Klug in Brooklyn, New York.
Marie was a graduate of Erasmus Hall High School and pursued a degree in nursing and childcare.
Marie was a homemaker and had a love for animals, especially her birds and her cat. She was a religious school teacher for many years at Holy Name of Jesus Church and volunteered much of her time at the church’s thrift store as well.
Marie was predeceased by her mother, Bernice A. Klug and father, John J. Klug. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, John Cardona, her daughters, Lisa McDonald and her husband, Michael; Melanie Mencke and her husband, Scott and her two precious grandchildren, Kyle and Michael. She is also survived by her brother, Robert J. Klug.
Marie’s husband, John, calls her his loving angel and shining star who he will love forever. To his darling, this is not goodbye, but I’ll see you later.
A Mass will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Church on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any local humane society or animal shelter.
