Marie A. Muratore of Middletown NY, died on Sunday July 3 after a courageous battle with a long illness at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus Middletown, NY. She was 83.
The daughter of the late Nicholas and Antoinette Mirable Adamo, she was born on October 7, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY. Marie married Anthony Muratore on October 13, 1956 in Queens. She graduated from Trapagen School of Fashion Design and was generous with her illustrations. She designed the logo for John Jay College's newspaper and also illustrated for fashion houses. She had a good sense of humor and was a dedicated and loving mom, wife and grandmother.
Marie is survived by her son, Anthony of Middletown, daughter Elaina Groo of Monroe, and Marie Muratore and her fiance Mark Dodd; sister Anne Stein of Greensburg, PA and three grandchildren, Alexandra, Taylor and Gregory and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 am on Friday, July 8, 2011 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Friday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 91 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Middletown. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
