Obituary for Marideane Sharkey
Marideane Sharkey entered into rest unexpectedly on 01/18/2022, at age 70. Born on 12/28/1951 in Newton, MA to Jack and Barbara Sharkey,. Marideane attended Framingham North High School in Framingham, MA and went on to Northeastern and Tufts University, where she earned her Dental Assistant Degree, spending 35+ years in Dentistry.
Marideane loved living on Cape Cod, MA, where she enjoyed sailing, crabbing, fishing, and just being by the ocean. Marideane also loved tending to her gardens with her green thumb and was also devoted to reading her
scripture daily.
Marideane leaves behind her constant companion, Zoey, her nine year old Beagle/Shih ztu mix. She also leaves behind her only child, Jennifer Mathis and husband Jason, from Bloomingburg, NY, along with her two “little men,” James Devine
Jr. and Michael Devine, her three great-grandchildren, Leah, Aubrey and James Devine III, her sister Jill Yvon and husband Rick, of E.Longmeadow, MA, her brother Jack Sharkey III and wife Kathy of Greencastle, PA, and several nephews and niece,
Jessica Enderlin and Jack Sharkey IV, Jack, Matthew, Derek Yvon, along with their spouses who Marideane loved dearly. Marideane was predeceased by her grandfather, the World Heavyweight Boxing Champion in 1932, Jack Sharkey, as well as her parents Jack Jr. and Barbara Sharkey of Barnstable, MA.
There will be a future service/memorial, which will be announced prior to commencing. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to your local ASPCA…
