Obituary for Margery Bull Jackson
Margery Bull Jackson, a resident of the Elant Nursing Care Center in Goshen, New York, died on January 31, 2006. She was 96 years.

Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of Harry Bull and Lucille Pierson. She was born June 4, 1909 in Campbell Hall, New York. She was a seventh generation descendant of William and Sarah Wells Bull.

Margery was a graduate of Goshen High School in 1927, when CJ Hookerwas the principal. She attended Russell Sage in Albany, NY and graduated from Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY, 1935.

She was a registered Nurse in Poughkeepsie and later in Middletown, NY. Margery worked as a polio nurse during the outbreak the year before the Salk vaccine was released. She retired from Middletown Psychiatric Center in December 1971.

Margery was married to John B. Jackson on October 29, 1938. They lived in Poughkeepsie until John died in August of 1948.

Mrs. Jackson was predeceased by her sister, Keturah J. Bull and her brothers, Henry P. Bull and H. Culver Bull; and her niece, Virginia Bull Meath.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy M. Bull of Canajoharie, NY, and nieces, Mary Jane Sorrell, of Goshen, Martha B. Lounsbury of Middletown, Linda Rogers of Knoxville, Tenn., Laura Fleming of Goshen,Dorothy Sitterly of Canajoharie, and her nephew, Harry C. Bull of Virginia Beach, VA, and many grand nephews and nieces.

Auntie Marge will be remembered by her family and friends as a kind and warmhearted caregiver with an uncanny knack for recollecting family lore. She was an active volunteer for many years for the Red Cross Blood Drives.

Memorial donations may be made in Margey’s name to the Bull Stone House Association, 183 County Route 51, Campbell Hall, NY 10916 or to a charity of one’s choice.

There will be a celebration of her life May 27, 2006 at the Bull Family Homestead in Campbell Hall, NY.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
