Obituary for Margaret "Peg" Ann Ribeiro
Margaret “Peg” Ann Ribeiro, a longtime area resident, died on Sunday, August 6, 2006 at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY. She was 54. The daughter of Dolores Mackie Galecki and the late Alex Galecki, she was born on August 21, 1951 in Brooklyn, NY. Margaret moved to the Middletown area in 1988 with her family. She worked as a Customer Service Representative for Shoprite of 211 in Middletown. A family statement reads, “Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren. She loved being with the family, at home or traveling with them. Peg was very good with people and made friends easily. She was a real peacekeeper. She dedicated herself to her husband and family, and was truly fulfilled with her life.” Peg is survived by her husband of 36 years, Joseph Ribeiro at home; her 10 children,Margaret and her husband, George, of Middletown, Joseph and his wife, Celines, of Syracuse, Erin and her husband, James, of Middletown, Christine and her husband, Samuel, of Virgiania Beach, Michael of Middletown, Ashley of Babenhausen, Germany, Kaitlyn, Morgan, Madison, and Sean, all of Middletown; 10 grandchildren, Alexis, Arielle, James, Amanda, William, Ryen, Donovan, Jaiden, Aiden, and Keegan; her mother, Dolores of Brooklyn; her brother Bryan Galecki of Montgomery; sisters Dolores Costello of Brooklyn, and Kim Bonnett of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends. Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 10th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, August 11th at 10am at the funeral home.
