Obituary for Margaret "Maggie" Mann
Margaret “Maggie” Mann
Middletown, New York
Margaret “Maggie” Mann entered into peaceful rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 27, 2021. She was born in Goshen, New York to Elizabeth Hocutt Mann and William “Bert” Mann.
She graduated from Goshen High School and found her career path at Middletown Psychiatric Hospital, and later Rockland Psychiatric Center. She retired after 35 plus years as a Head Housekeeper. While there, she was active in the C.S.E.A. union, where she formed many lasting friendships including Norma, Maggie Brennon and Brenda.
Maggie’s pastimes were tricky trays, penny socials, dot to dot puzzle books and any casino- When her hand itched-she had to go! Her passion in life was her family. She was the ultimate relative who always put family first. She unselfishly dedicated her life to her parents, nieces and nephews. She collected relatives and took everyone at face value. She had a gentle disposition but would set her siblings straight, when necessary.
Maggie spent the last years of her life, right up to her death, dedicating herself to her nephew Justin and his wife Jen. The family thanks her for her devotion.
There was not a Dunkin Donuts coffee Shop that she didn’t frequent.
Though her death was unexpected, Maggie’s family is comforted knowing she is reunited with her parents and brother Herbie, who predeceased her.
She will be mourned first (forever)and then celebrated by her survivors. Her sisters, Mary Jane Crump Boyce, Beverly Mann, Harietta “Penny” Lee, her brothers; Raymond Hocutt and her twin brother William Robert Mann, her sisters-in-laws- Heather, Pamela and Marilyn and brothers-in-law Noel E. Boyce and Lester Lee. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, a God daughter, and friends-too numerous to mention.
The family thanks the staff of Mobile Life and Garnet Health ER. We appreciate all that was done for us. We want to thank Tom, TomIII, Herbie, Chris and Josh for lightening our grief process.
Maggie’s Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, January 3, 2022, at Applebee-Mcphillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, New York with a visitation from 10 to 12, and reflections at 12:15 to 1:00P.M. Burial will follow in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery.
