Obituary for Margaret Ann Curabba
Margaret Ann Curabba
April 19, 1946- December 2, 2016
Port Jervis, NY
Once upon a time a solidier fought in a far away land where he met and married his Czechoslavakian bride. Soon after came a baby girl that changed our world. Margaret Ann Wagner Curabba had but 70 years on this earth, yet she accomplished much and touched the lives of so many. She was a striking dark haired beauty who won “Miss Wallkill” in 1965. On July 24, 1966, she married Richard “Dutch” Curabba and together they raised two wonderful sons, Todd and Jason. Her favorite thing to do was to travel. She loved visiting with her German family, vacationing on Lake George and Clearwater Beach. She owned the popular Fashionette Beauty Salon for 40 years in Middletown. In 1992, she lost the love of her life. In 2006, she moved to Florida to care for her beloved elderly parents. Margaret, “margie” to her friends and family, recently returned to the area where she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and life long friends. Margie will be remembered for her fierce loyalty to family and friends, her kindness to strangers and her angelic spirit.
She is survived by her sons, Todd and his wife Rhonda of Dade City, FL and Jason and his wife Dawn of Shohola, PA and her cherished grandchildren, Cody, Kyle, Jack, Quinn and Regan Curabba. She is also survived by her brothers, Ernest “Ernie” Wagner and his wife Emmy of Point Pleasant, NJ and Ron Wagner and his wife Lisa of Chester, NY and many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Margie died unexpectedly on December 2, 2016 surrounded by the love of her boys and their families at Westchester Medical Center. Cremation will be private.
Vistiation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.
