Marcelina Martinez was born in Havana Cuba on June 2,1928 to her mother Maria Garcia. She grew up alongside her sister Anna Dulce.
She married Jose Martinez and later gave birth to her only son Jose L Martinez on December 20, 1965. She and her family immigrated to the United States in 1967. She made a life for herself in this new country and became a citizen on August 14, 1975.
Marcelina, known to her friends and family as Lila, had a long and prosperous life priding herself on her independence and putting her family above everything else. She set an example for others through her hard work, perseverance and devotion to family.
She is survived by her three nieces, Victoria, Dulce, and Elena. Her son Jose, his wife Evangelia, and her two grandsons Adam and Andrew.
Her life was fruitful, leaving behind a joyful legacy and many friends who will remember her for years to come.
