Margaret Gobeo

Margaret Gobeo, loving mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at St Patrick's Hospital in Missoula, Montana after a brief illness. She was 87 years old.

Margaret was born on January 7, 1923 in Middletown to the late Frank and Viola Turi Benedetto. She married Louis Gobeo on December 19, 1945. She talked often and with fond memories of their honeymoon in Trinidad and Tobago.Margaret worked for Avon Products in the production department in the Middletown and in the Suffern plants. She retired after many years and many friendships. Most of those friendships continued long after retirement. She always carried the "Avon girls" in her heart.

She was a long term Middletown resident and member of St. Joseph's Parish. She moved to Montana when she was 82 to be closer to her grandchildren. She enjoyed living in Montana and watching deer from her front porch. She also enjoyed seeing buffalo, eagles, and all the sights in Montana. She did not like the Montana winters.

Margaret is survived by her son Bruce Gobeo and his wife Janna of Missoula, MT; granddaughter Nicole R. Gobeo of Puyallup, WA; grandson Louis M. Gobeo of Ulsan, S. Korea; granddaughter Rosalia D. Gobeo of Portland, OR; and family and friends in the area. She will be dearly missed.She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Viola Benedetto, husband Louis Gobeo, sister Jean Crane, brothers Victor and Frank, and sister Rose Brundidge.

Visitation hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940.
