Obituary for Madeline (Madelyn) Roland
Madeline (Madelyn) Roland, a 45 year resident of Saddle River and cherished Mom, died with her family at her side at Sapphire Nursing Rehabilitation in Goshen, New York on January 15, 2022. She was 94.
The daughter of Louis and Ottilia Jesse Petitti, Matty was born on August 24, 1927 in Westwood, New Jersey. She married James August Roland and together they raised 10 children and enjoyed the many grandchildren that eventually were born into this loving family.
While her death brings sadness to our family, it also brings the joy of having had her and her wonderful, outgoing personality to mind. She loved people and even in her nineties was alert and fun to be with. She savored all friendships she made. Her family (all of them) were her most precious successes in life. She will always remain in our hearts and her memory will be celebrated for as long as we live.
She is survived by her 10 children; Susan and Fred Burton, Robert and Kathleen Rogers Roland, Thomas Roland, Debra and Ralph, Jr. Antonelli, Nancy and Kenneth Maier, James Jr. and Cindy Roland, Jayne and James Anderson, John Roland, Jean and Mike Kundert, Kimberly and Gary Karpovich.
She is also survived by her 22 grandchildren; Heather and Vito Delucchi, Kimberly and June Robles, Ashley Roland, Todd Black, Ralph Antonelli III, Krystal and Anthony Civitano, Kody Maier, Kenneth Maier, Joseph Roland, Sarah Roland, James Roland III, Samantha Roland, Rebecca Vanseeters Roland, Jennfir Anderson, Jessica Anderson and fiancé Casey Ames, Sarah and Greg Keller, Chris Kundert and Morgan Fielding, Alex and Ashlyn Kundert, Jake Kundert, Kellie Karpovich, Kyle Karpovich, Krista Karpovich, Kevin Karpovich. And 16 greatgrandchildren; Olivia Delucchi, Bianca Delucchi, Mija Roland-Black, Antonio Civitano, Melania Civitano, Camilia Civitano, Joseph Roland, Autumn Rosario, Brodie Ames, Marley Keller, Casey Keller, Crosby Keller, Able Kundert, Cal Kundert, Knox Kundert, and Troy Kundert.
She remained healthy, happy and full of energy until her passing. May she rest in peace and be reunited with her loving husband. She will forever remain in the many memories of her large immediate family and friends.She was predeceased by her husband James August Roland and her grandson Zachary Roland.
A private Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in the family plot in New Jersey.
