Lucille Marion Brown Morrone passed into heaven Friday November 4th 2022, at Middletown Park Manor, she was 85.
She was the true middle child of 7 children born to Persis Herrick and Wales Milton Brown December 27, 1936 in Cambridge, NY. Lucy, as many knew her, arrived in Middletown on a bus to attend Orange County Community College’s Nursing Program in 1955. While raising her 4 children she realized her dream in 1976, she began her career at Camp LaGuardia, spending much of her career as a Charge Nurse for Middletown Park Manor, her nursing career ended working with her friend Dr. Goddard Lainjo.
She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church where she was very involved in the choir and many activities. She loved crafting, painting, and we know many of you were recipients of her knitting and crocheting creations. During her decline she never ceased knitting from rote hats for premature babies.
She is predeceased by her parents and joins her family members in Heaven, sister Frieda Brown Jakobe, brothers Floyd, Wesley and Stanley.
She is survived by her four children Edward R. Morrone,Sr. (Rose), Robin Anne Mann (Dusty), Toni Marie Morrone, Frank D. Morrone,Jr., and the many children she welcomed into her home.
Grandchildren, Melissa Morrone, Adrianne (Vernon McGugan), Edward Morrone. Jr.
Lauren Scott, Dominic (Amber)Morrone, Jaime LaBelle (John) Turner, Salvatore (Mackenzie) Morrone, DeAnna LaBelle (Jerry Hazelip), Briana Scott, Vincenzo Morrone, Angela Morrone.
Great Grandchildren, Adam Stalter, Emily Morrone, Kaleb Stalter, Jaxson LaBelle, Braelyn McGugan, Jayda LaBelle, Joshua LaBelle and the newborn Jonah Turner born Friday November 4th. She is survived by her 2 sisters Roselyn Holden of Coolidge Az., and Esther Sowell, Orange City Fl. Numerous nieces and nephews from Ca, Az, Mt., Fl, and NY.
A Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday December 27th at Mt. Carmel Fellowship Hall, 90 Euclid Ave.in Middletown, from 6-9 pm. Internment will be with her brother 1Lt Stanley Alton Brown, a casualty of VietNam, in Onesquethaw Cemetery, New Scotland, Albany County, NY at a later date.
