Louis E. Molinelli, Sr. an area resident since 1984, died peacefully at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 90.
The son of the late Fortunato and Rose Foppiani Molinelli, he was born in New York City on July 18, 1923. Louis proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the U.S. Aircraft Carrier the Intrepid. Following his Military service, he worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the Letter Carriers Association. He married Pauline Casella and they shared nearly 60 years of marriage together until her death in 2004.
His family wishes to extend their thanks to his longtime care giver Christina James; the staff of Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties (true angels on earth); and Ann and Jim Helt, his loving neighbors and friends.
Louis is survived by his daughter, Marjory Lapadura and her husband Anthony of Middletown; and his son, Louis E. Molinelli, Jr and his wife Barbara of Middletown; grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Stephanie, Laurette and her husband Gregg, Marissa and Cynthia and her husband Scott and great-grandchildren, Samantha, Alex, Drew, Michael, Shea and Abigail.
Services and burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery with Military honors will be private and at the convenience of the family.
