Obituary for Lorraine Decker-Duryea
Lorraine Decker-Duryea, a lifelong area resident passed away Friday, December 8, 2006 at Orange Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 74 years old.Lorraine was the daughter of the late Cleada and Leo Kelly; she was born on September 8, 1932 in Brooklyn, N.Y.Lorraine was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, friends, and neighbors. She never let anyone go hungry and always helped those in need even when she didn't have much. She loved animals and was heart broken when her poodle "Sheba" passed on.A Family Statement reads: "Lorraine was a loving woman with a giving heart who always had a smile and a kind word to offer all who knew her. Her children could not ask for a better mother-they have lost a best friend. It gives us great peace knowing that she is with the Angels and will be reunited with her daughter, Charlaine in Heaven."She is survived by her children, Robert Decker and his wife, Lori of Huntersville, N.C.; David Decker of Middletown, Jodi McKinney-Englehardt and her husband, Eric of Pleasant Valley, Debbie Decker of Willsboro. Also surviving Lorraine is her brother, Robert Kelly and his wife, Shirley of Middletown; her "adopted" daughter Shirley Dubois; seven grandchildren, Danielle, Kira, Jessica, Tiffany, Tori, Tara, and Carleigh; one great grandson, Armani, as well as one nephew, Randy Kelly and one niece, Trisha Turner and many loving friends.She was predeceased by her parents many years ago and most recently her precious daughter, Charlaine Decker-O'Neil in July 2005.Family and friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, December 11, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown.A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be celebrated at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Daniel Morse will officiate.Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
