Linda A. Williams, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 surrounded by her beloved family. She was 63.
The daughter of the late Frank and Anna Maria McIlroy Ludlow, she was born on July 17, 1949 in the Bronx. Linda married Lawrence A. Williams on June 22, at St. Paul’s in Middletown, Larry and Linda would have celebrated 45 years of marriage this Saturday. She and Larry did everything together; they travelled all over the world while he was in the service, they camped all over the United States, and even called Bingo together at Monday night Bingo at the Greenville VFW. Linda was a former member of the Middletown VFW Ladies Auxiliary and an active member of the Post 3175 Greenville VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Linda was fondly known as “Grandma” to everyone in Orange County. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grand and great-grandchildren the most in life. She will also be remembered as a strong woman who was extremely proud of her Scottish heritage.
In addition to her devoted husband, Larry at home; she is survived by her three daughters, Tiffany Williams, Tera Richards and Laree Williams; two brothers, George Ludlow of Dansville, NY and Thomas Ludlow of Seneca, SC; and three sisters, Laura Decker of Middletown, Ann Lindsley and her partner Richard Tamok of Westbrookville, and Carol Curtin and her husband Bill of Summitville; and one brother-in-law, Earl Cudney. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashley, Brooklyn, Tim, Cassie, C.J., Taren, Brett, Jacob and Jennifer and four great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Julianna, Alex and Lia as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by one brother Frank Ludlow and a sister, Arlene Cudney.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924.
