Leonard Rosenblum, a longtime resident of the area and retired NYS Thruway employee, died in Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center on October 7, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was 81.
The youngest son of Sam Rosenblum and Gussie Wahaftig Rosenblum’s 10 children, he was born in the Bronx.
An outgoing personality, Lenny was someone who lived life to the fullest. He was a kid at heart and brought much joy and outright laughter to anyone who met him. He loved playing cards, collecting coins, cruises, and taking kids (his and neighborhood friends) to amusement and theme parks. He was fun to be around, and even in his final days, Lenny was still bringing smiles to the faces of his caretakers.
He was a member of the Middletown Elks Lodge #1097 for many years and cherished the friendships and work of that organization.
He is survived by his devoted children, Gloria Moyse (son-in-law Perry) of Greenville, NY; Scott Rosenblum (daughter-in-law Annie) of Pine Bush, NY; and Daniel (DJ) Rosenblum (daughter-in-law Felicia) of Bloomingburg, NY; Daralyn Rosenblum (former wife and mother of his children) of Middletown, NY; his 7 grandchildren (Dylan, Angelina, Mylah, Nathaniel, John, Dina, and Jared) as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his longtime loving companion, Lena Citriniti, his parents and siblings, and his granddaughter, Makenna Lynn Moyse.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. A funeral service of remembrance will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will follow at Wallkill Cemetery.
