Lena M.Martin,77, of Middletown died Thursday, January 26 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was born in Bessemer, Alabama on December 12,1934 to Willie and Hettie Kirk. She was the widow of Milton Martin Sr.
She moved to Albany, New York for several years and returned to the Middletown area last year. She was a member of Mt. Olive Southern Missionary Baptist Church in Albany, New York (Reverend Willie J. Stovall.) She was a former member of Friendship Baptist Church, (Reverend Harry Brown), Ferndale, New York. She served in the Usher's Ministry Choir, and Missionary Ministry. She was faithful in her services.
She is survived by her children, Linda (David) Hinton, Brenda Martin of Middletown, Valarie (Charles) Beckman of Amsterdam, New York, Milton Martin Jr. of South Carolina, Maurice (Paula) Martin of Denver, Colorado, six grandchildren, and three adopted grandchildren; Sisters, Maple Bell, Doris Steele, Norma Dammier, all of Ellenville, New York, Reverend Uneada (Ekia) Heard of Norfolk,Virginia and stepbrother Willie J. Kirk of Louisville, Kentucky, several nieces and nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, two sisters, one step-sister and one brother.
