Lena Frisenda, also known as Lee from Lee’s Bridal Shop, of Middletown, NY passed away peacefully on May 18, 2021 at Middletown Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at the age of 98. She was born on April 30, 1923 in the Bronx, NY and was the daughter of the late Louis Crocco and Clementina Scavelli Crocco. She Graduated from The Textile High School and worked at the Atlas Factory in New York where she made backpacks for the military and where she met her future husband, John Frisenda. She later worked for Harriett’s Bridal Shop in New Rochelle, NY. Lena loved to dance and in her youth was an accomplished semi-professional dancer and loved dancing all her life. Lena married John Frisenda on April 22, 1945 and they were married for 61 years. They lived in New Rochelle, NY before relocating to Middletown, NY in 1969. Together they owned and operated “Lees Bridal Shop” in Middletown, New York for 30 years. “Lee” was well known for her warm and kind spirit. She was sweet, loving, caring, patient and kind and would do whatever she could to make people around her happy. Her reputation was well known in the area for being so sweet to everyone and making all her customers feel loved, cared for and beautiful. There was nothing they asked for that she would say no to. She was predeceased by her Loving Husband John Frisenda in 2006, her parents and her dear sisters Marie Orofino and Dorothy DeLancey.
She is survived by her loving children, Carol Marsin and her husband Robert of Middletown, NY; Tina DeStefano and her husband Louis of Middletown, NY ; her son Armondo Frisenda and his wife Colleen of Westbrookville, NY and son John Frisenda, Jr.of Philadelphia, PA; her Grandchildren, Robert Marsin and Jennifer Marsin-Legnini and her husband Greg Legnini; Michelle, Louis, Brian and Michael DeStefano and his wife Marielle; Rianna, Kayla, Nicholas and Amanda Frisenda and her husband Michael Procack, Nicole, Raychel and Samantha Frisenda and 6 Great Grandchildren, Giovanni, Gianna, Claire, Logan, Michael and Matteo and many loving nieces and nephews. She was a kind and gentle beautiful soul and she will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held today, Friday, May 21st from 3 to 7 pm at Applebee McPhilips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Entombment will follow in the family mausoleum at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, NY.
