Laura Fuller, a retired dietitian, formerly of Middletown, died Monday, December 10 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy, NY, surrounded by her loving family. She was 81 years old.
Laura was born in West Virginia to the late Sidney and Alice Bailey Satchell.
She worked for over 30 years at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. In 1988 she came to Middletown and planned for staff and patients at the Middletown Psych Center until her retirement.
Laura was a wonderful cook and entertained others with her talents. She was a dedicated Christian woman who loved the Word. She lived her life loving and caring for others.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Brown and her husband, Julius of Waterford, NY; son-in-law, Albert Brown; brother, Adbulla Mumhamad of California; sister, Sylvia Bailey Miller of New York; her aunt, Helen Corbert of Maryland; grandchildren: Thomas, Amber and Yvette; great-grandchildren: Elijah, Jofiah, Mariah, Joy, and a host of nieces and nephews and many cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold; daughter, Christine Brown; her son, Barry; sisters: E.K. Brown, Elsie Satchell; brother, William Bailey.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940, with a funeral service of remembrance celebrated by Pastor Sharon Reese at the funeral home at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery.
