Kenneth Hoffman, a retired machinist for Clemson Bros. in Middletown, died Sunday July 12, 2009 at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center. He was 89 years old.
He was born to the late James and Helen Gunterberg Hoffman on July 30, 1919 in Maspeth LI. Kenneth married the love of his life Elsie McCarthy on December 25, 1941 and they shared 67 wonderful, devoted years together.
He is survived by his wife Elsie at home; his son James of Montgomery; grandchildren Nicholas Hoffman and his wife Rosa of Walker Valley, and Heidi Aldrich and her husband Gregg of Round Rock, Texas; his gifted and talented great-grandson Keegan; as well as his nephew Gordon Thew and niece Joan Howell of Goshen, NY.
He was predeceased by his sisters Bertha Truesdel, and Pauline Osborn and his daughter-in-law, Carol O’Leary Hoffman in 1997.
There will be no visitation. Cremation will be private. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, NY.
