Kay F. Tieman, a retired Therapy Aid for Middletown Psychiatric center, died following a short illness on July 6, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 84.
The daughter of the late Charles and Florence Atwell Rockefeller, she was born February 9, 1934 in Mahwah, NJ. Kay moved to the area in 1965 from NJ, and raised 5 children while working full time. She was an avid reader and a very creative woman who tinkered in all of the arts. She was an accomplished artist who loved to draw and paint and could make just about anything.
Kay is survived by her children, Kay McGregor and her husband John of Otisville, Joseph Tieman and his wife Trisha of Houston, TXand Bambi Davis and her husband Raymond of Port Jervis. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jessica, Danielle, Richard and Stacy as well as 3 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Tieman, brother Robert Rockefeller; two sons, Peter and Charles Tieman and one granddaughter Stephanie.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will take place at 11 am on Wednesday followed by a 12 pm graveside service at Holy Name Cemetery, Highland Avenue in Otisville, NY, Fr. Michael Cedro will officiate.
