Kathleen M. Keyrouse- Smithem of Port Jervis, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 10, 2012 in Matamoras, PA. She was 63.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Madeline King Keyrouse, she was born on June 1, 1949 in Suffern, NY. She grew up in Nanuet and enjoyed summers with her grandmother in Sag Harbor. She always loved being around the water. Her grandchildren were the most important part of her life- she loved each of them dearly. She lived her life to the fullest and took part in anything that she found interesting.  Kathleen worked as a nurse for Veritas Village in Kerhonkson, NY.

She is survived by her son Keith and his wife Mary Ann of Port Jervis, her daughter, Heather and her husband Mark Rajnert of Otisville; one brother, Joseph Keyrouse, Jr of N.J., and three sisters, Nancy Berich and her husband Donald of Brandford, CT, Patricia Manzo and her husband Richard of Lovettsville, VA and Maryanne Packer and her husband John of Sag Harbor, LI and her five cherished grandchildren, Peter, Sean, Matthew, Adeline and Hannah.

Visitation hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Celebration of Kathleen's Life will be held at 8 pm on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Cremation will be private at Cedar Hill Crematory.

Donations in Kathleen's name may be made to Mental Health Association Autism Move-A-Thon, 73 James Kelly Way, Middletown, NY 10940.
