Obituary for Judith Gale Percely
Judith Gale Percely
"Judy"
June 5th 1960-June 13th 2021
Judith Gale Percely, Judy, 61, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021 with loving family by her side at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY.
Judy was born on June 5th, 1960 in Newark, NJ. Judy was in the first graduating class of the Minisink Valley/B.O.C.E.S. program of 1978. She was a champion of the Special Olympics Summer Games at West Point, NY. Judy enjoyed working at ARC Day Program of Campbell Hall, NY.
Judy was a true inspiration. She overcame the odds while always maintaining a positive happy-go-lucky attitude and endearing smile. Judy was the purest of heart, funny, kind, affectionate, and genuine woman. She was a “pip”. Judy loved her family and friends with all of her heart. Some of her favorite past times included listening to music, dancing, singing, animals, playing with her electronic poker game, bowling, swimming, and watching wrestling (especially The Rock; whom she always said she was “going to marry someday”).
It’s not very often that someone so amazingly special comes into our lives. We have been truly blessed. To know her was to love her. Judy was so friendly and full of life. She opened the hearts and minds of everyone she met. Judy will always be our “Sunshine” 😊
Judy is predeceased by her father Jerald F.D. Percely, son of Samuel and Frances Percely. She is survived by her mother Zulma M. Percely of Middletown, NY, daughter of José A. Vargas and Elvira Lugo de Ramirez. Her sister Iris Stiles and husband Greg of Middletown, NY and their daughters Michelle Stiles and Jennifer Cochran and her husband Jason and their two children. Her sister Cindy Bennett and husband Eric of Wyoming, RI. Her brother Adam Percely and partner Chuck Cochran of Otisville, NY. As well as several loving uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and ARC staff.
Memorial Services will take place on Wednesday, June 16th at McPhillips Funeral Home 12:30pm-2:30pm. Funeral service is 2:00pm-2:30pm. A live stream will be made available. Donations may be made out to ARC Campbell Hall &/ Kaplan Family Hospice Residence.
