Joyce Delillo, a retired bookkeeper for Rowley Lumber Company, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Middletown Park Manor.

Joyce, a beautiful, loving person who spent her life devoted to her family, was born in Chester, England. She met her husband, Luigi (Lou), while he was stationed with the U.S. Army in England during World War II. They fell in love. After he was deployed back home, they corresponded across the continents and in November 1946, Joyce at 19, sailed to America. They were married at St. Joseph's Church in Middletown on December 15, 1946.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Middletown, the Lenten Sewing Club, AHRC, Daughters of the British Empire, Middletown BPW and Court Rosemary of the Catholic Daughters of America.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents, William and Mary Reynolds, her sister Rose, brother Norman, and son-in-law Tony Marasco.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Luigi Delillo, at home; three daughters; Julie Marasco of Lexington, Kentucky, Mary Diana and her husband Edward of Goshen, and Margaret Siena and her husband Neal of Middletown. She is also "Grandma" to six grandchildren; Erin Schulte and her husband Ben of Kentucky, David Marasco and his fiancé Jessica of Cincinnati, OH, Danielle Diana-Smith and her husband Marty of Middletown, Lindsay Diana of Manhattan, Margaux Siena Toral and her husband Dino of New Jersey and John Michael Siena of Middletown. She is "Great-grandma" to five grandchildren; Ava Madison Smith and Marc Anthony Smith of Middletown, Diego Toral and Siena Lee Toral of New Jersey and Mara Bea Schulte of Kentucky.

Visitation hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday, May 16, 2011 at St. Joseph's Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Joyce's name may be made to the Alzheimer’s' Association of Orange County, 384 Crystal Run Road, Suite 102, Middletown, NY 10941-4013.
