Joyce A McGill a long time resident of Middletown passed away on July 8 at Garnett Health Medical Center.
Joyce was born January 30,1946 in Richmond VA. She attended Richmond Public Schools.
Joyce did a variety of things during her life, from Retail,Dental Hygienist, Telephone operations,
Bank Teller/Personal Banker, working for a congressman and the receiver of taxes for the Town
of Wallkill. Joyce had her other loves, dancing and sewing. Joyce was a proud member of
O.E.S (Order of Eastern Stars)
Joyce was a very generous and giving woman! She never met a stranger or was unwilling to
assist if she could. She touched so many lives!
Joyce's memory will forever be cherished by her son James (Junnie) Eugene McGill and
wife Burnetta, grandchildren Oscar and Tiara, Godson Herbert (Kit) DoughtyJjr., one sister
Fannie Pendleton, one brother in-law James Gregory, 4 sister in-laws; Eva Taylor, Isabelle
McGill, Zenobia Gregory, Marsha Gregory, a host of other nieces, nephews, great
nieces and nephews, and her adopted daughter Courtney Hawley, and her good friend
John Davis, plus long- time neighborhood (family) friends! Joyce was pre-deceased
by her husband Eugene McGill.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 6-8 pm and Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 2-4pm with a 3:00 pm Service of Remembrance at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940
Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home.
