Obituary for Joshua Harold Allen
Joshua Harold Allen, a lifelong area resident, died unexpectantly on Saturday, January 7, 2006 in Old Forge, NY. after a snowmobiling accident. He was 20 years old.

The son of David E. and Barbara Tophofen Allen, Josh was born on September 3, 1985 in Middletown.

Josh attended Minisink High School and was employed by E.J.’s Plumbing in Slate Hill. Josh enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and racing quads and go-karts. He was also a wrestling coach for the Minisink Valley Youth Wrestling League. A family statement reads: “Josh was a free spirited and happy young man who had a smile for all of us and lived life to the fullest, sometimes close to the edge. We will miss his generous and loving ways”.

Besides his parents of Middletown, Josh is survived by one brother, David Allen and his wife Amanda of PA; two sisters, Sandy and her companion Ben of Johnson and Christina Allen of Greenville; paternal grandmother Evelyn Allen of Slate Hill; maternal grandmother, Helga Tophofen of Germany; two aunt’s, Gladys Muller and her husband Robert of Greenville and Rosita Tophofen of Germany; three uncle’s, Tim Allen and his wife Mary of PA and Wilhelm, Werner and Heinz Tophofen of Germany; one neice, Kaila Jones and one nephew, Robert Jones; three cousins, Joanna, Jessica and John Muller, all of Greenville and his extended family of Brian and Stephanie Ford and their children Jaime, Brett, Daryl, Chloe and Brian Jr.

Josh was predeceased by his grandfathers, Edward Allen, Heinz Tophofen and his infant brother John.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 11, 10am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, County Route 22, South Centerville. Burial will follow in the family plot in Manning Cemetery. Memorial donations in Josh’s name for a future wrestling scholarship can be made in care of:
