Obituary for Josephine Mora
Josephine Mora, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at Bon Secours Community Hospital due to complications from Coronavirus on May 11, 2020 – she was 87.
The Daughter of Felix and Blanca Lugo, she was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on August 28, 1932. She grew up singing with her father and loved making people happy with their musical talents and travels.
In 1952, Josephine married Rolando Mora, Sr. Together they had 5 children, adopted 3 more and eventually fostered a total of 25 children, all who benefited from their generosity and love.
She is survived by her siblings Alicia, Clara, Miriam and Elvin, as well as her children, Marilyn Mora, Jeffrey Mora, Jo-Anne Garcia, Roland Mora Jr. (Karen), Blanche Carlton (Jerry), Louis Mora, David Mora (Marleah) and Edward Mora (Christina), 19 beloved grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband in 2015, her sister Doris, and niece, Lilian.
Due to current restrictions regarding interments, cremation and burial of cremains will take place at a later date in Orange County Veterans Cemetery.
