Josephine Mary Bianchi- Refari
Our beloved Josephine Mary Bianchi-Refari died after a lengthy illness at home with her family at her bedside on February 20, 2024. She was 99.
The daughter of Angelo and Philomena Visca Bianchi, she was born one of ten children on February 1, 1925 in Norwich, New York.
Josephine, affectionately known as “Feen” was an angel on earth. She was gentle, sweet and never had an unkind word for anyone.
She spent her life in service to others through volunteering at church, serving as a member of the Altar Rosary Society, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Business and Professional Women’s Organization and the St. Joseph’s Choir. She worked for many years as a seamstress . She divided her time between family, friends and her church activities, always being helpful to anyone in need. Her life was one of faithfulness and love.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Mario, her loving daughter, MaryAnn and son-in-law, Robert Quinn. She is further survived by her sister, Theresa DeStefano and her cherished grandchildren; Christina and her husband Jeffry Greene, Jason Almeida and great-grandchildren; Alex, Camren, Clayton, Cyrus, Ceno and many nieces and nephews who will remember her as an honorable and positive woman who made a difference in their lives.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
