Obituary for Joseph W. Trank, Jr.
Joe passed away on November 16, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was 70 years old.
The eldest son of the late Joseph W. and Margaret M. (Flynn) Trank, he was born on December 21, 1950, in New York, NY, and never lost sight of his roots. When he started raising a family, he moved to Orange County in 1979.
He was a graduate of Xavier High School, where he played basketball and football, and after attended Marist College where he earned a B.A. Degree in Business Administration. He worked for several corporations during his career, among them American Express, Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Medco Health/Express Scripts, the latter of which, he retired from in 2003 after 18 years of employment.
His primary passion in life was the well-being of his family, above all else. Other interests included watching and attending sports events (Yankees, Jets, Rangers, Knicks), vacationing and body surfing at North Wildwood, NJ, listening to Classic Rock music and attending concerts, particularly at Bethel Woods, photography, and attending school or sporting events for his children.
Joe is survived by his wife, Michele L. (Monaco) Trank. He is also survived by his son Joseph W. Trank, and his wife, Megan of Campbell Hall, NY., daughter Kristen A. Musumano and husband Wesley D. of West Hartford, CT., and daughter Kaitlyn E. Trank of Salisbury Mills, NY. Joe will tremendously miss his five grandchildren; Patrick Teagan, Maeve, Mairead Trank, and Elle Musumano.
Joe is survived by his brother William A. Trank and his wife Joanne of Canton, MI. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Cynthia M. Trank.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, from 1-5 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown NY., 10940. A Service of Remembrance will be held Monday Nov. 22, 2021, at the Funeral Home at 10 am. Burial will follow in the family plot at Wallkill Cemetery.
