Joseph  Tramontano, a retired dispatcher for N.Y. Telephone Co.,  died on Monday April 23 at O.R.M.C., Arden Hill Campus in Goshen, NY.  He was 94.

The son of Dionisio and Filomena Tramontano, he was born on August 27, 1912 in Brooklyn, NY. Joseph married Evelyn Arturi on October 23, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY. He moved from Queens with his wife, Evelyn, to the Middletown area in 2003.

He worked both as a dispatcher for New York Telephone Co. and electronics technician for Fairchild Camera and Instrument Corp. in Hicksville, Long Island. 

A family statement reads, "Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family, and was fortunate to have shared many family vacations in Cape May, NJ. Joseph had a vigorous and very active lifestyle. He loved to read, play cards and took great pleasure in sharing meals with others. He always enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren and great-grandson”.

He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn, at home, son Ronald and his wife, Jan of Albany, and daughters, Diana Legere and her husband Edmond of Goshen and Joan Tramontano of Manhattan; four beloved grandchildren, Christine Faga and her husband, Angelo;  Brian, Marisa, and Allison Tramontano, one great-grandson Samuel Joseph Faga, three adoring sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, greatnieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call Wednesday, April 25th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 26th at 9:30 am at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY. Burial will follow in Memory's Garden,  in Albany, NY.  Memorial contributions in Joseph’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, 419 East Main Street, Middletown, NY 10940.
