Joseph Stampfel Jr., 77, passed away at home on Thursday, March2, 2023 after a valiant battle with lung cancer.
Joe was born on October 27, 1945, to Joseph Stampfel Sr. and Frances Barcia in Brooklyn, New York. He followed in his father's footsteps and worked for Schlitz Schaefer Brewing Company in Brooklyn after graduating from John Adams High School in Queens, New York. He worked at several different jobs before attending Apex Technical School to become an air conditioning mechanic and worked for Sears Roebuck for many years. After retirement he worked part time for The Transportation Administration at Stewart Airport.
Joe is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cathy, and their three children, Joseph III and wife Tara of Johnson, New York; Peter, and Elisabeth, wife of Brandon Lentino of Jersey City, New Jersey; sister Maryann Gentile, of Ocala, Florida and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Thomas Stampfel of Dacula, Georgia.
There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, March 14 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home 130 Highland Ave, Middletown, NY
