Obituary for Joseph R Carter Sr
Joseph R Carter Sr. 2nd (BIG JOE) was born April 16, 1965 and died June 6, 2024 in his home in Kingston NY under
the care of Hospice and his girlfriend Alicia Hough of Kingston NY.
He was battling cancer and unfortunately no longer with us.
Joseph was 59 years old.
Joseph was born April 16, 1965 in the Bronx NY to mother Josephine Cortreras and Father Joseph Carter Sr.
1st.High school graduate he had many jobs but most recent was a custodian at Walmart in Kingston NY and a flagger
for Ethan Allen staffing.
Joseph was a big teddy bear that loved to sing and dance and have a good time everywhere he went. He was the type who
would give anyone his last dime and never expect anything in return. He loved to take pictures of the sunset and scenery
and the beauty of this earth. He liked to collect old vintage items like watches and swords. He loved his family and friends
and was loved by all who met him. He will be missed dearly.
Joseph is survived by his girlfriend Alicia Hough of Kingston NY and her children Alexander Keizer 8 and Gabriella Hough-Garcia 15 who he loved as his own. His former wife Octavia Goings Carter of the Bronx NY and their children Joseph Carter Jr 31, Belinda Carter 33, Tyreik Carter Goings 39 deceased),
Shakima Goings 37, Miquavis Carter 34 all from the Bronx, NY, Shatasia Goings 38, of California and 19 grandchildren.
His brother Calvin Carter of Schenectady NY, sister Michaeline Carter of Pennsylvania, Sister Ana Carter of North Carolina and deceased sister Sonia Carter. Also, His Aunt/Mom Mona Merriman of Middletown and Uncle/Dad Hector Romas of Middletown NY. and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Visitation with a Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 12 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Applebee-Mcphillips Funeral Home 130 Highland Ave Middletown NY 10940.
An after gathering will be held at 60 Shelley Court, Middletown NY 10491.
