Joseph C. Klemowitz, a longtime area resident, died suddenly on February 19, 2018 at home. He was 57.
The son of the late Robert and Angie Klemowitz, he was born on November 24, 1960 in Brooklyn, NY. Joe enjoyed sports of all kinds while playing hockey and baseball throughout his childhood and took great joy in coaching his son's little league team. He was a huge fan of both the NY Rangers and the Mets. He loved cooking Italian food best and was the proud owner of a pizzeria for several years. Joe was an animal lover and a big family man who adored his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children; son Joseph Klemowitz; daughter Kristine Grzybek and her husband William, all of Bloomingburg and his daughter Melissa Klemowitz of Boston, MA and their mother, Deborah of Bloomingburg; brother, Robert and his wife Karen and sister, Patricia Trezza an her husband Al, all of Middletown. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Kaylee and Adam, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, February 23, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in the family plot in Bloomingburg Cemetery in Bloomingburg, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. www.applebee-mcphillips.com
