Jose Torrealba

Joe died on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011 at home. He was 69.
The son of the late Socorro Espinosa Torrealba and Eduardo Torrealba, he was born in Mauagua, Nicaragua and came to the United States when he was 17 years old. He continued his education here and later joined the U.S. Army. Joe was a former employee of Ford Motor Company in Mahwah, NJ until it closed in 1980. He then worked for IBM in Fishkill, NY and was currently a TSA Agent at Stewart Airport. Joe was very appreciative of the opportunities that America offered him. Joe loved golf, hunting, fishing and chopping wood. He also enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn at home, son David and his wife Lisa of Staten Island, John and his fiance Ashleigh of Tacoma, WA, daughter Angelique Torrealba of Miami, FL; beloved grandchildren, Corina, Kaylie, Chrysta, Dylan, Marcel, Lucito and Carlito; Joe's sisters, Yolanda and Marta of NYC; his father Eduardo also of NYC and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held at 8 pm on Wednesday evening at the funeral home, cremation will be private.
