John P. Crowe, Jr., a longtime Middletown resident, died on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Highland Manor Nursing Home in Middletown. He was 64.
The son of the late John P. and Mary Jane Monaco Crowe, he was born on July 8, 1948 in Manhattan. John married Barbara Fulton in 1984 at St. Joseph’s in Middletown. John worked in sales for Gametime in Montgmery,NY. He loved and lived for his kids, he was proud of everything they had accomplished. He also loved his dogs, his loyal companion, Duke, even came to visit him during his stay at the nursing home. He enjoyed singing both at church and in other singing groups. John was also a past Grand Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus in Middletown. He was a great sports fan who was lucky enough to have met many famous sports figures including Willie Randolf, Chad Pennington, and Daryl Strawberry.
John is survived by his wife Barbara and his children, John P. Crowe, III and Jessica Crowe; his brother, Thomas of Howells and sister Kathleen White of the State of Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be private.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Applebee-mcPhillips Fuenral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday morning at the funeral home. Burial of ashes in the family plot will follow in Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery, Bloomingburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John’s name may be made to Pets Alive, Inc, 363 Derby Road, Middletown, NY 10940.
Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial of ashes in the family plot will follow in Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.
