Obituary for John M. DeSantis
John M. DeSantis, a lifetime Middletown resident, died Monday, October 16, 2006 at his home. He was 83 years old.The son of the late Patsy and Rose Marino DeSantis, he was born May 22, 1923 in Middletown, N.Y.A veteran of World War II, John proudly served his country in the United States Army. John had retired from A & P Supermarket, working at many of the local A & P Supermarkets in the area and doing many different jobs for the company.John is survived by his sister-in-law, Mary DeSantis of Middletown, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes Custard DeSantis; and his brothers, Vincent and Frankie DeSantis.John will be missed by his friends at Keystone Park and the caregivers that had taken such good care of him.Family and friends paid their respects on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue in Middletown, N.Y.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow, Friday, October 20, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, N.Y. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Middletown.Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
