Obituary for John Louis Frisenda, Sr.
John Louis Frisenda, Sr., a longtime area resident, died Friday, May 26, 2006 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus after a short illness. He was 82 years old. The son of the late Armondo and Maria Farrone Frisenda, he was born on September 4, 1923 in New York City. A family statement reads:" John was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who was loved by all. He was a generous, hardworking honorable gentleman as well as a respected businessman and owner of Lee's Bridal Shop with his wife, Lee, serving the area for 28 years. He loved cooking, eating, vacationing in Aruba, playing cards and was an avid Yankee Fan. John loved his family and his home was always open to all. There was always sauce cooking and pasta on the table. If you weren't a family member when you walked in, you were when you left. John was a devoted member of St. Joseph's parish. He served his country and was a veteran of World War II. "He was the rock, a pillar of pride and unity upon which our family depended on and looked up to, he will be truly missed by all." John is survived by his loving wife, Lena "Lee" at home; two devoted sons, Armondo Frisenda and his wife, Colleen and John Louis Frisenda, Jr. and his wife, Melissa; two beloved daughters, Carol Ann Marsin and her husband Robert and Tina Marie DeStefano and her husband Louis; thirteen grandchildren; Robert, Jennifer, Michelle, Louis, Michael, Brian, Rianna, Amanda, Kayla, Nicholas, Nicole, Rachel, and Samantha; one sister, Teresa Cardinale and her husband, John; two brothers, Arthur Frisenda and his wife, Sue and Louis John Frisenda and his wife, Ann, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Frances Ciro. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday May 28th from 7 to 9 pm and on Monday May 29th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Applebee McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 11 am in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown. Entombment will follow in the family mausoleum in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Middle Hope, NY.Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
