John Herman Felker of Middletown NY, died on Thursday October 14 at ORMC Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 72.
The son of the late Henry and Esther Paffenroth Felker, he was born on November 30, 1937 in Sussex, NJ. John served proudly in the U.S. Army from 1956-58. He married Norma Eileen Gibson on April 27, 1972 in Middletown. John worked for Ford Motor Company in Mahwah for 22 years and as a corrections officer for Mid-Orange Correctional Facility in Warwick for 20 years. He was a dedicated member of Circleville Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
John was a devout Christian, a humble and hard-working man who instilled a strong work ethic in his children. He loved his family and was a great teacher who loved sharing his knowledge with his children while setting the high standard of what it means to be a father and loyal husband. His family will always carry him in their hearts, and know that he is at peace with his father in Heaven.
In addition to Norma, his loving wife; he is survived by his children, David and his wife Lauren of Marlboro, NY Jeffrey of Ellenville, Tammy Babula and her husband Jay of Eldred, and Lia Felker and her husband Greg Estrada of Rockville, MD; brothers, Hank and his wife Andrea of Walcott, NY, David and his wife Gail of Florida, and Brian and his wife Donna of Arlington, VA; sister Dale Tremblay and her husband Peter of Naples, FL; daughter-in-law
Marleny Gibson and his beloved grandchildren, Andrew, Grace, and Annie Babula and Jackson, Brady and Christopher Felker.
John was predeceased by his son, Daniel William Gibson on April 22, 2001.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Monday, October 18, 2010 and 9:30 -10:30 on Tuesday at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Circleville Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Goshen Turnpike , Circleville, NY, 10916.
